The Saint Louis Chess Club and the Chess Merit Badge

Since its introduction in 2011, the Chess Merit Badge has become one of the most popular badges in the Scouting America catalog, with over 300,000 scouts earning it. The Saint Louis Chess Club workshops offer a dynamic program that fosters critical thinking, advanced planning, and good sportsmanship.

Workshop Information

  • Cost: Free
  • Formats Available: Virtual and in-person workshops
  • Eligibility: Scouts ages 11–17
  • Requirements:
    • Basic knowledge of chess rules
    • For virtual workshops: Access to a computer with a microphone and webcam
  • Class will meet each day from 7-8pm Central Time (Monday - Friday) starting Monday, April 21 and ending Friday, May 5

  • Class will meet each day from 7-8pm Central Time (Monday - Friday) starting Monday, October 13 and ending Friday, October 24

  • Class will meet each day from 7-8pm Central Time (Monday - Friday) starting Monday, December 8 and ending Friday, December 19

A signed waiver by this registrant will be required before you can download your QR code. A link to obtain waivers for all registrants will be shown on the confirmation page.
