WashU Fall 2025 Rapid & Blitz Chess Tournament Saturday, October 25th, 2025 | WashU Danforth University Center (6475 Forsyth Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63105) 

Join us on Saturday, October 25th for the WashU Fall 2025 Rapid & Blitz Tournament, a full day of exciting chess competition on WashU’s Danforth Campus! 

The day begins with the Rapid Tournament from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring a five-round Swiss System with a G/15; +3 time control. Players will compete in Open and U1500 sections for a share of the $650 total prize fund, with top prizes of $200 for 1st place in Open and $130 for 1st in U1500. The event is US Chess Rapid Rated, and the higher of the players' Rapid or Regular ratings will be used for pairings and prizes. 

Afterward, the Blitz Tournament kicks off from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, also following a five-round Swiss format with a G/3; +2 time control. Players will compete in Open and U1500 sections for a share of the $350 total prize fund, with top prizes of $100 for 1st place in Open and $60 for 1st in U1500. The Blitz event is US Chess Blitz Rated, and no byes will be available. 

Both events are free to enter and open to all players, but participants must hold current US Chess memberships.
